Virtuous Modesty
"She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering."
What clothing does the virtuous woman wear? In what does she cloth her children? Where does she find modest clothing? What actions does she take to instill modesty in her children in all things? What books does she allow? What music does she allow?
The virtuous woman is vigilant in all things especially modesty. She protects her children's innocence and purity. She watches over her speech and manners. She is modest in all things. She models herself after the Blessed Mother and the millions of saints that have done the same. She follows the laws of modesty embraced by the Holy Catholic Church.

The Virtuous Hands
"......and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle."
What does the virtuous woman do with her hands? Does she sew and mend for her family? What does she sew?
The virtuous woman mends, washes, purchases, and folds the clothes for her family. She gently uses her hands to clothe her family and decorate her home. She knows the joy of giving to her family the arts of her hands. She gently carasses the head of her sick child and wipes away the tears of life. She learns the delicate work of needlepoint, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, etc for she knows that idle hands are never virtuous.

Virtuous Strength
"She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm."
In what ways is the virtuous woman strong? How is her strength a reflection of God? How must she be meek in order to be strong? And how must she be strong in order to be meek?
The virtuous woman is strong physically, spiritually, and emotionally. She sees the importance of her strength in tending her home and her children. She knows that she must be independent and yet rely on her spouse. She is not afraid of her strength for she knows the boundaries that her feminine nature impose upon her. She is meek in the shadow of God and her spouse and a tower of strength to her children. She holds the family together under the heaviest of crosses and deals with her emotions quickly and thoroughly. All others, and first of all her family, must see the Blessed Mother in her strength and fortitude.

Virtuous Stewardship
"She is like the merchant's ship, she bringeth her bread from afar."
How does a virtuous women shop? Where does she shop? How is she frugal? What meals does she prepare for her family?
A virtuous woman is careful over everything that God has given her. I recently read in a pioneer book that their motto was "Eat it up, Wear it out, Make it do, or go without". Something that every virtuous Christian mother should embrace is the simplicity that is spoken in this simple poem. Nothing goes to waste for everything we have is a gift from The Almighty. Saving money while running a comfortable Godly home is the duty of all virtuous women.

The Virtuous Wife
"The heart of her husband trusteth in her"
What makes one a virtuous wife? Share your ideas on what makes a holy wife, a loving wife, a serving wife, a Godly wife, a Catholic wife.
The perfect wife strives to bring her husband closer to God. She works hard to aid him on the road to holiness. There must be great respect for his headship. She does not grumble, complain or murmur when he makes a decision. She respects him and serves him. She owes him a debt which the Church calls the "marital debt". She bears his children and raises them to heaven. She protects what is his in the practice of modesty. She does all in the best interest of her husband and this is why he trusts in her.

The Virtuous Woman

"Who shall find a valiant woman? far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her. The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of spoils. She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life. She hath sought wool and flax, and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands. She is like the merchant's ship, she bringeth her bread from afar. And she hath risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and victuals to her maidens. She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard. She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm. She hath tasted and seen that her traffic is good: her lamp shall not be put out in the night. She hath put out her hand to strong things, and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle. She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor. She shall not fear for her house in the cold of snow: for all her domestics are clothed with double garments. She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering. Her husband is honourable in the gates, when he sitteth among the senators of the land. She made fine linen, and sold it, and delivered a girdle to the Chanaanite. Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day. She hath opened her mouth to wisdom, and the law of clemency is on her tongue. She hath looked well to the paths of her house, and hath not eaten her bread idle. Her children rose up, and called her blessed: her husband, and he praised her. Many daughters have gathered together riches: thou hast surpassed them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands: and let her works praise her in the gates."
